Driving Holiday with Toronto Drive-away
I organized my trips as driving holidays or to re-locate for a project or as part of a working assignment to visit clients or suppliers.
The Drive-away trips have always reduced my travel costs and allowed me to see all of the North American countryside. You can rent a car and do the same trips - at twice the cost.
You have to plan what parts of the country you want to see and how to return. Then just pick the first drive-away that fits your time and location goals.
More about Toronto Drive-Away
Our story began in 1957 when our founder, Ron Coady, arrived from England.
After immigrating to the U.S. and driving vehicles for Drive-Away companies there, he noted the absence of any such service in Canada and promptly formed Toronto Drive-Away Service (Nationwide) Inc. in 1959.
48 years later we are still the premier Drive-Away Service in North America still owned and operated by its founder Ron Coady.
Our dedicated staff includes Jean Scott who has been with the company since 1974 and Ken Maude who began working with us in 1989.
If you are interested in driving to or from a particular destination, you must be 25 years of age or over with several pieces of identification, have a clean driving license and you must be able to provide references.
If you have a criminal record do not waste our time or yours as you will not be permitted to drive one of our client's vehicles.
Drivers must be able to provide a deposit (cash, Visa or MasterCard). The amount of the deposit varies depending on where and when you wish to go (see Destinations available for qualified drivers). You must also be able to comfortably finance your trip as you do not receive your reimbursement until you deliver the vehicle.
The car owner, through us, is trusting you to take good care of his car and effects and we expect you to be appreciative of this trust by driving carefully at all times and by keeping the inside of the car in a clean condition.
Generally, our clients use the trunks of their cars for their own personal clothing items. Consequently, it is only suitable for two people to be in a car while en route to a destination as only the inside of the car is available for the drivers' luggage.
